Welcome Freshers

Hi,

It’s been a while since I last posted on here, I’ve been busy with a new job and various other bits but now I’ve finally got round to blogging again!
Last week was of course A level results day which means we will have a whole new bunch of freshers joining us in September. If you got your results and you did as you hoped then well done; if your results were not as you hoped, don’t worry it’s not the end of the world.

University clearing is a really good option and you definitely shouldn’t feel any less proud of yourself getting into uni this way. I know multiple people that have came to Leicester through clearing and have loved their time here. My only suggestion is not too panic and rush into joining a Uni that you’re not 100% happy with. The University of Leicester is great and I’ve had some of the most amazing years of my life here, but everyone has different needs and preferences so make sure you do some research rather than making a choice just because there are places on the course.

I may have previously mentioned in another post but this year I will be vice president of the Chemistry society (ChemSoc) here at Leicester so if you’re joining us in September than you’ll more than likely get to meet me. The society facebook page is here, please join the group as it’s our main point of contact to other students. The society will host various socials throughout the year and also some academic support so we’re pretty handy for getting to know coursemates and making the most out of your time at Leicester.

As ever, if you have any questions about anything I’ve written or anything in general about being a student at Leicester please feel free to ask in the comments section!

Jack
